Dear Parents,

Happy New Year! 2010 is here, and we are looking with great anticipation for great things from the Lord in this new year and new decade. Perhaps this will be the year in which the trumpet of the Lord will sound, and we will meet Jesus in the air and forever be wiand His mercies are new every morning. Our prayers for all of you, our LCA families, is that you will prosper in God even as your soul prospers.

Just as a reminder, if you need to meet with a teacher, please do not just"drop in". The mornings are very busy getting the children settled and beginning the day. After school the teachers sometimes have preplanned appointments, meetings, activities. To service you in the most efficient manner, please call the school office at (609)499-2100 and set up an appointment,. We will all appreciate this so much, and you will have our full attention. Thank you very much for your help with this.

Stay warm, and God bless you in 2010.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas.

Now we will be "getting down to business".  We are starting reading groups and independent seat work.  The children will be doing much more work on their own.  The skills of listening and following directions are extremely important now.

Parents, you may start to see "extra" work coming home on certain days.  This is not extra homework - it is work that your child did not complete in class that day.  Please have him/her finish it that night and return it the next day (signed by you).

January can bring cold wintry days.  This is a great time to grab some hot chocolate, your child, a good book and READ, READ, READ!

May God richly bless you in this new year. HAPPY 2010!

Happy New Year! Look how far we've come!

Whoa baby we're flying now! Before you know it we'll be having our awards ceremony and I'll be saying "Have a great summer!" But until then...

We have been doing an amazing job learning and growing academically, physically and spiritually! We have had many great accomplishments this past month. We had our first field trip to Johnson's Corner Farm this pastDecember where we made some fantastic gingerbread men. Luckily they didn't all run away! A big thank you goes out again to our chaperons who helped make that trip a BIG success, as well as our bus driver for getting us there and back safely!

As January begins we all need to dig our heels in and work like we've never worked before to finish the year strong. We still have much to do and plenty to learn.

Continue to remember to check and empty your yellow folder each night so you can stay properly informed about upcoming projects. Check for important tests and information in your Weekly News. Please also remember to come to school dressed appropriately. Bring proper outerwear as well as proper LCA sweaters and shirts.

Don't forget to continue to bring in Acme receipts and box tops.

The year 2010 is here! What are you expecting for this new year? I am expecting to have a very productive new year with students who have a love for learning.

The new year brings us to our very important class project, our class book. Early in the school year we decided to choose Easter as our topic for the book. We choose this because previousyears the topics were on holidays and this is a great opportunity to express the best thing that Christians have, God's forgiveness.

Our memory verse for the month is Proverbs 3:5,6,7,8. The students will be quizzed on this at the end of the month.

Please continue to check your students homework notebooks and folders to know what we are accomplishing in the class.

I hope that everyone had a fantastic Christmas break full of lots of fun and excitement. Your children will soon be coming home filled with more excitement as we head into learning multiplication concepts in math. They are all already very eager to begin, so let*s continue to support this excitement by making the learning of this concept fun and something that they want to continue to do.

By now, your student has learned almost all the lower case letters in cursive. Keep practicing these letters with them at home and encouraging them to write in cursive more and more.

In English, we have just finished writing persuasive essays. Ask your child what theirs was about*see if they can persuade you to agree with their opinion!

Lastly, I cannot stress how important it is to study for science and history tests with your child. We do review for tests in school; however, this cannot replace the constant studying that should be occurring in the home. Make sure to go over the chapters with your child as well as to read over the study notes that I provide. This is crucial to their understanding of the material. In science especially, there are concepts and terms that take continuous review in order for the students to grasp them.

Thank you for all the hard work you put into your children to help them succeed.  It shines through in all that they do!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great Christmas holiday! It's hard to believe we are starting another year. Time marches on!

This month the class will be assigned an independent Book Report that will be given as an oral presentation. We are also beginning our class reading book, Little House in the Big Woods. This is a wonderful book that brings to life the units that we study in American history.

We are finishing up our Science unit on birds and continuing on with multiplication in Math. The Scripture for the month is Matthew 7:1-5 and the multiplication memorization facts are the 8 and 9 families. The children are doing very well with memorizing the History documents and we will continue to work on them as well. I want to remind everyone of the great online spelling study help spellingcity.com . This is a great program to make studying spelling words fun!

Have a blessed year and may God bless you and keep you in 2010!

Happy New Year!  I trust you all had a blessed Christmas break.

We are all refreshed, energized, and ready to "plow" into our work...oops, no more snow jokes

We are into division in math which isn't that difficult for those who know their multiplication facts. We are finishing up our poetry in language.  Some of our poems have surprised even us.  We may have a future poet laureate in our class.  We are about to enter the sea with its beauty, mystery, and power.  Science opens up so many wonders of God's marvelous creation.  We will soon be going to Africa to learn about the past and present history of this vast continent.  We will be memorizing Matthew 7:7-12 as we continue in our study of Old Testament times and people.  We are learning how important and necessary it is to live holy lives dedicated to God so we can be used by Him.

Take this time of the year to develop a new or even stronger relationship with the Lord by putting Him first.

Happy New Year! I trust you all had a blessed Merry Christmas. I wish all of you a blessed, happy, and prosperous year in 2010.

Well, we are almost to the halfway point of this school year. It is just "blowing by" so fast in this arctic blast we are experiencing. This month we will be concentrating on completing units in all subjects as we end the second marking period.

Thank you for your prayers and support. You are all the BEST, and I appreciate you all soooo much. Remember to call or write me a note anytime you have questions.

God bless you.

Music Notes
Sister Wisniewski

Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed a blessed and restful Christmas break. It is 2010, and God will be doing new things in our lives and in LCA. I am looking forward to it!

In Music classes for grades 4, 5, and 6, we will be learning the ABC's -of music, that is! We will be learning how to read notes, where rhythm in music comes from, and a little history of how music notation developed. This is great information for future composers, musicians, or anyone who has ever struggled with reading a song from a music book, and it's easy as "ABC, 1,2,3.!" We will have a follow-up bingo game that will make note reading fun for everyone.

Parents of students of all grades who are taking private instruction with me in voice, composition, piano, or keyboard, you may expect a progress report on your child to come home with them sometime in the latter part of this month. Please take a moment to review it with them to learn of their strengths and progress, and areas in which they need an extra nudge or encouragement. Please know that your involvement goes a long way in producing great results for your investment of time and money, as well as the confidence and musical competence of your child.

God bless you all in this bright and shining New Year!
