Update: Joshua Schauer’s Death

It has been more then a year since Joshua Schauer’s death and much has transpired since. Testimonies have come forth of people who have given their lives to the LORD because of his death. There have been those who had already given their hearts to the LORD, but were not living as they should, who have had the fire re-kindled in their hearts. There have been at least two individuals who feel the call into the Ministry who have been inspired by Josh’s death. Praise the LORD for all of these testimonies!

We, his parents, thank God for the values and beliefs that were instilled in Josh while at LCA and FOLC. We believe that when he left home for awhile and became as the prodigal son, these values and beliefs are what stuck to him and are what carried him back home.

For the last two weeks of his life, he had fully dedicated his life back to his Lord Jesus Christ. Pastor Dave Boudwin and the Xstream Youth Ministries played a vital roll in these last days. Joshua was a walking example of a Christian who was on fire for his God. People who had the pleasure of being with him during his last two weeks testified that it seemed as if he only had one foot on this earth and the other foot in Heaven with his Jesus. Two days before he died, he expressed his desire to take the reigns for ministry. He wanted to work with the youth. The burning desire he had could be seen in his eyes.

Joshua’s middle name was Daniel. In the book of Daniel chapter 5 verse 23, Daniel confronted Belshazzar the King of Babylon and told him that the God who holds his breath in His hand and owns all his ways, he had not glorified. Then in verse 30, Daniel tells us that Belshazzar was slain that night.

Make sure that you glorify the God who holds your very breath in His hand and owns all your ways. Death can be so sudden that you will not even be able to take another breath. Joshua died behind the wheel of a work vehicle with a workmate right next to him. One second he was breathing, the next he was slumped over dead in his buddy’s lap. What is so astonishing is that his autopsies show no apparent reason for his death. When your time to stand before the LORD is appointed, nothing can stand in the way. Are you ready?

Dear Brother Newman,

Thank you so much for everything that you have done in my life and just starting a foundation in my life that will never be able to be shaken. Life Center Academy was the greatest thing that ever happened to me to get me to this point in my life. The school has provided me so much ground work for the future. I have completed college as you know and I have doubled majored in Missions and Church leadership business. God has called me to a life of ministry and a life of servanthood. When school is over most think ..."Wow those days were fun"...those days were fun but better days are coming. The mission trip that I went on changed my life forever and it was because of your guidance, with Pastor Graban and many others that helped me become the person I am today. I am forever indebted to a placed that started my foundation and that is LCA. So if the teachers are ever weary of the school year. Tell them this. The do make a difference and I have them to be thankful for that difference. God bless

Hi Brother Newman-
Thought I would write to update you.

Brandon and I just celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary. We are living in Fort Ashby, West Virginia. We love it. It is a one traffic light town
and very different from NJ. Brandon's family is from out this way. We bought 2.5 acres of land and are in the process of building a home.

I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease August of last year and have had a very difficult year health-wise. However, I am feeling great and loving the mountain air!

Brandon is working for a boys’ home similar to Ranch Hope. It is in Maryland and it is a Christian organization. He and I are also doing the youth group at our church and the church is hoping to pay Brandon
part time starting in January. WE love it. The kids are great and it is a passion of both of ours.

Brandon graduated from Geneva with a degree in youth ministry and it is such a blessing to see the Lord using his gifts to further the Kingdom.

I have been hired as a speech therapist for Allegany County in Maryland. I start orientation tomorrow and am excited to begin a new journey. I haven't completed my masters yet so I am working under conditional certification but am hoping to start an online course soon. I was at West Chester U doing my masters, but due to my health, it wasn't possible any longer.

We are still waiting to have a family. We feel the Lord is blessing us with job opportunities right now and we want to take advantage of what He is giving us. However, the kids will come shortly, Lord willing!

Thank you again for your Godly advice and sound teaching. Please tell everyone I say hello and we are praying for your ministry at Life Center. You have all truly blessed my life and have made me a better woman for the Lord. God bless you!!!
